Luswingo Kalanga Cultural Festival 2023

The 2023 Luswingo Cultural Festival was held on the 22nd December 2023 and was a great success. The event was graced by Kalanga Traditional leaders, Academics and the kalanga community as far as Botswana.

Archaeologists from the Department of National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe informed the gathering that they were working on an application of requesting for Luswingo ruins to be a National Heritage Site. The local Member of Parliament, Hon. Dingumuzi Phuthi promised to table a motion in Parliament as well.

KLCDA Board Member, Tshidzanani Malaba revealed the importance of uplifting kalanga language as it is a vehicle which carries kalanga culture.
