Notice of Annual General Meeting
To: BaKalanga and Friends of TjiKalanga
The above subject matter refers;
The Kalanga Language and Cultural Development Association (KLCDA) will hold its 2nd Annual General meeting on the 28th of March 2016 in Plumtree, at a venue to be announced. This is in line with section 11, Sub-Section 11.1 of the KLCDA Constitution. The purpose of the AGM shall be as follows;
- To review the preceding operating period of the Association.
- To establish priority areas of the Association for the year 2016.
- To elect new leadership of the Association.
The AGM is open to ALL BaKalanga and any other people who are interested in TjiKalanga as to attend BUT, ONLY FULLY PAID UP MEMBERS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE AND BE ELECTED into leadership positions.
Members of the Association are therefore encouraged to update their membership status by paying their annual subscription of $10 to the association’s bank account. Those who are not yet members of the association are encouraged to join the association and effectively participate and contribute to the revival, growth and development of TjiKalanga.
Nominations are now open for positions in the Board of Directors (BOD) and in the Executive Committee (EC). For nomination and election procedures, please contact the undersigned. The Agenda of the AGM will be availed upon confirmation of attendance. Please confirm your attendance to the undersigned on or before the 20th of March 2016.
KLCDA is a membership based organisation whose main thrust is to promote the development and growth as well as to celebrate TjiKalanga Language and Culture. The organisation seeks to position the language and culture as a key contributor to broader societal development. KLCDA was founded in 2005 and registered in 2010 deed registration number CF51/2010. The organisation’s programming targets Kalanga Communities, schools in Kalanga speaking areas and tertiary institutions offering Kalanga programmes.
